[[Curriculum, Aesthetics and Teacher Education]] Students focus on one or more primary areas: curriculum, aesthetics, & teacher education. Students & faculty share interests & commitments to interdisciplinary, integrated approaches rather than one disciplinary focus. [[Digital Environments for Learning, Teaching and Agency]] Students seek to investigate and formalize theories, principles, and practices that focus on learning and teaching in digital environments, ranging from technology-enhanced classrooms to mobile devices to immersive virtual worlds. [[Language and Literacy]] Students explore both the broad issues facing language & literacy education through coursework and independent research. Students can focus on Bilingual/ESL education, Writing Studies, Early to Secondary Literacy, or Children's Literature. [[Mathematics, Science, and Engineering Education]] Students raise and address vital questions about mathematics, science and engineering education. The MSE faculty support and encourage a wide variety of perspectives and research methodologies.
