Environmental Regulation and Sustainable Development LLM

Course Description

Course overview

Our LLM in Environmental Regulation and Sustainable Development provides an advanced understanding of the challenging legal issues surrounding environmental law, regulation, protection and sustainable development.

This course is one of four taught law courses (LLM) we offer and is suitable for graduates of any background. It is ideal if you’re interested in gaining a better understanding of how the law shapes and influences our environment.

It will give you the knowledge, insights and analytical skills to enhance your career in practice, business, academia or another career path.

You will develop your knowledge and expertise in: national, European and international legal regimes and their effectiveness in achieving environmental protection and sustainable development; the relationship between environmental regulation, policy, science, justice and trade; legal responses to the economic, environmental and social challenges facing humanity today.

You will develop both your practical and research legal skills. Through our Legal Simulation module you will work in small teams and be presented with a realistic scenario.

You will be introduced to a variety of practically-focused legal skills, including: analysis of complex legal problems; devising legal strategies; working with the law in real-life contexts.
