The effective management of human resources is central to the success of any organisation. We will enable you to make an effective contribution as a human resource specialist. You will recognise the distinct ethical responsibilities of the human resource practitioner.
Throughout the course we will encourage you to apply knowledge and skills to practical problems and situations. Our aim is to promote intellectual rigour with a strong orientation to practice.
You will gain an understanding of: the principal internal and external environment contexts of contemporary organisations; key human resource (HR) functions; major contemporary research evidence on employment; effective approaches to HR learning and development practice; perspectives and debates on employment relations.
The course is for those who want to pursue a career in international human resource management, as a practitioner or within academia. We will challenge you to question and critique current thinking within the discipline. We will also give you the platform to develop improved methods of managing an organisation’s human resource.
A 2:1 honours degree or international equivalent.We will also consider your application on an individual basis if you have lower or non-standard qualifications and at least two years of relevant industry experience. To study this course you need to meet our Band 6 English Language requirements: Direct Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in all sub-skills) If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a Pre-sessional English Language course.
