This degree delivers advanced professional learning for teachers and those with a professional involvement in education, including school bursars, school development officers and training personnel. It will help you develop greater expertise in educational practice or research and can contribute to current teachers' professional development requirements. You can choose to specialise in one of four award majors: *English, Multiliteracies and New Media (Mt Gravatt and online) *Leadership, Policy and Social Transformation (Mt Gravatt and online) *Young Children, Early Childhood and Identity (Mt Gravatt and online) *Youth, Digital Culture and New Learning (Mt Gravatt and online)
If a major is not offered at the campus of your enrolment and you do not want to or cannot study online, you may travel between campuses to undertake your studies. As a graduate, you will be able to apply knowledge and skills in a range of contexts for professional practice or scholarship. Please note that this degree is not an initial teacher education program and will not lead to registration as a teacher in Queensland schools.

Language requirements English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows: *A minimum score of 575 on TOEFL *OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19) *OR a minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0 *OR no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only) *OR a minimum grade of C on the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) *OR a minimum grade of C on the Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) *OR an overall score of 61 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with a minimum of 54 in all Communicative Skills.
English test results must be no more than two years old.

Pathways to further study For students interested in undertaking doctoral studies, this program provides a pathway that articulates with the Master of Education and Professional Studies Research (5608) and onto the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Education (6022).
Hold a Bachelor of Education degree or an equivalent teacher education qualification; OR hold a Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) and have a minimum of three years equivalent full-time experience in a leadership or management position in an educational setting; OR hold a Bachelor Honours degree in Education (students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing); OR hold a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Education or equivalent (students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing).
