[[Qualification for health and social managers]] Altered framework conditions are leading to a profound change in the management of health and social institutions. Solutions that enable health managers and/or social managers to cater to the interests of the most diverse of groups are therefore required.
[[Objective]] The distance learning course has been held by the DISC since 1999 (since 2004 as a distance learning Master's degree) and conveys both the necessary knowledge and the skills needed to successfully manage healthcare and social welfare establishments. The course concludes with the academic grade "Master of Arts" (MA).
[[Target group]] The two-year, accredited distance learning Master's degree is aimed at university graduates of any discipline with at least one year of professional experience. This course is ideal for specialists and managers at healthcare and social welfare establishments, those looking to assume a management position in this field, as well as graduates keen to work in the field of health and/or social management. Applicants for the master distance learning course "Management of Health and Social Insitutions" may also be accepted for the study program who have relevant work experience but have not graduated for a university. These applicants must prove relevant professional work experience and have to pass an aptitude test.
[[Program content]] The "Management of Health and Social Institutions" distance learning Master's degree encompasses ten study modules. Among other topics, these modules cover the latest developments in health and social services, the basics of business management, company accounting, basic legal principles, work and organization design, personnel development and staff management, quality management, modern management concepts/instruments and change management.
The course is held entirely in German.
