MSc Soft Tissue Therapy and Exercise Rehabilitation degree is the latest of our innovative sports programmes to be launched. It has been designed with the Sports Massage Association (SMA) to provide successful level 7 Masters graduates professional accreditation at level 5 - the highest professional sports massage body recognition in the UK. You will be equipped with the clinical knowledge, theory and skills needed to be a success in the competitive area of sports therapy and mtherapy is an important aspect of athlete support but can also be used successfully to treat the non-athletic population. You will develop the clinical skills, knowledge and experience needed to implement and design evidence based sports massage therapy and rehabilitative corrective exercise programmes. Students will build on a strong anatomical understanding applying current research to clinical practice. Students will develop their skills further whilst undertaking the placement (an SMA course requirement) at our own LSI sports injuries clinic, other therapy based clinics or sports clubs/ organisations.
Our partnership with Saracens Rugby will enable students to increase their level of learning and employability during the course. The Allianz Park stadium, situated near to the Hendon campus, boasts new world class specialist labs dedicated to human biomechanical movement, human physiology performance and performance technology analysis as well as other key resources including high performance labs, sports rehabilitation facilities and testing facilities. Students also have the opportunity to work with academy and elite players as well as having access to professional coaches enabling participation in school and community sporting activities.
