Sport science largely offers expert scientific intervention to enhance training and performance, while exercise science has a central role in physical activity programmes aimed at improving general health. In this course you will develop the practical skills required to work with both the elite athlete as well as the general population, and importantly improve your knowledge and understanding of the theoretical principles underlying the practical application.
You will experience a range of teaching environments aiding them on their journey. Specifically, our new human movement lab and human performance lab will be the main settings for classes, allowing for learning through doing. You will gain experience in the sport and exercise industry through the placement module, with time spent in our sport science clinic preparing for working outside with employers.
Our partnership with Saracens Rugby will enable students to increase their level of learning and employability during the course. The Allianz Park stadium, situated near to the Hendon campus, boasts new world class specialist labs dedicated to human biomechanical movement, human physiology performance and performance technology analysis as well as other key resources including high performance labs, sports rehabilitation facilities and testing facilities. Students also have the opportunity to work with academy and elite players as well as having access to professional coaches enabling participation in school and community sporting activities.
