Course Description

The MA in Medieval Studies is an interdisciplinary programme, which entails an intellectual exploration of Western culture and society during the Medieval period – an era of crucial importance to European culture. This programme is offered across the disciplines of Philosophy, Theology, History, Literature, Irish Studies, Art and Music.

The programme focuses on Christian elements broadly speaking, but the Greek and Islamic roots of Europe are also considered. Students complete the programme with a greatly enhanced understanding of the deep roots of our culture, including Greek, Jewish and Islamic elements.

This programme should appeal to all students who have an interest in Medieval culture, literature, thought, history and art.
