MA International Fashion Business: Buying and Merchandising Management


Course Description

Studying fashion buying and merchandise management at Master’s level will allow you to develop the ability to strategically plan and select a range of products, whilst considering the profitable development of a company.

This course offers you an opportunity to explore the buying function and to develop analytical and managerial skills that will allow you to become highly employable upon completion of your studies. You will develop a detailed understanding of the process, structure and dynamics of fashion buying in the international fashion supply chain. Study visits to international trade fairs and fashion capitals offer exciting research opportunities to support course content.

You will study fashion buying, product development, merchandise management, logistics and supply chain management, project management, budgeting and financial management, fashion marketing and research methods. Your study will culminate in a dissertation.

Entry Requirements

This course will normally admit students with a good UK honours degree or international equivalent in a design or business related discipline. It is designed to allow students with a keen interest in the apparel industry to acquire a postgraduate qualification in a specific fashion business area.
