This course is designed to lead to careers in Health Visiting or School Nursing. There is a focus on public health, community development, health needs assessment and health inequalities.
All aspects of the course focus on the development of skills, knowledge and attributes required for the SCPHN role. The course leads to registration on part three of the NMC register for Specialist Community Public Health Nursing.
Applicants must apply for a Health Visitor/School Nurse position within an NHS Trust, as advertised at http://www.jobs.nhs.uk.
There is one intake to this course starting in October.
The programme builds on the core values of the NHS constitution and is approved by the NMC to offer students the opportunity to gain a specialist practitioner qualification in Specialist Community Public Health Nursing.

.Applicants should hold a first level qualification on part one or two of the NMC register.Applicants for PgDip will normally have a UK honours degree (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject, with a minimum of a 2:2 classification and demonstrate the ability to study independently at level 7.Applicants for the BSc (Hons) will normally have 120 level 5 credits in a relevant subject, or a relevant diploma, and demonstrate the ability to study independently at level 6.
