This professional development programme for middle-senior managers and team leaders already employed in integrated Children's Services, is based on the recommendations and principles outlined in the National Framework for Children's Services. It considers the skills, knowledge and behaviours for leaders and managers described in "Championing Children". There is an emphasis on developing leaders and managers as effective and reflective practioners.
It uses a variety of learning techniques particularly suited to this area of study including: needs analysis, individual professional development planning, individual and group work based on case studies and critical incidents, action learning sets, action research, and research and reflective practice using the outcomes of 360 degree analysis. Each unit is worth 30 credits and can be completed in a term.

An undergraduate honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject which provides a foundation for building postgraduate study. Alternatively applicants should be professionals working in (or have appropriate experience of) in the area of Children’s Services but it is important to be able to show that you can work at post-graduate Master’s level. You should be supported by your workplace (or appropriate establishment) in order to be able to carry out any workplace-based tasks
