MSc Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM)

Course Description

The postgraduate awards in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics offer teachers at both primary and secondary level an opportunity to develop their knowledge and pedagogical skills in this increasingly important area. Successive governments have recognised that "joined up thinking" in this area is vital for the educational and economic future of the country.

You can also enrol on a single unit of this programme which enables you to manage your learning flexibly and at a pace that suits you. You can tailor a course to fit your developmental needs; you can gain accreditation for prior learning, including courses you have undertaken with the Science learning centre and you have the opportunity to develop personal practice.

Gaining a Postgraduate award:

Offers the holder enhanced career opportunities, demonstrating intellectual and academic achievement, and shows employers that the holder has the ability and self discipline to achieve a high academic award.

It also emphasises that the holder has engaged in research into their own professional practice, an aspect of professional life which is becoming increasingly valued and recognised.
