This programme is for school business managers and other professionals involved and engaged with meeting the challenges of education management. It aims to generate business managers for education who will be capable of leadership management that contributes to the strategic development of their organisation. Issues and dilemmas involved in the field are explored and participants are able to undertake a particular research project in their own place of work. The course centre is located at the University’s Crewe Campus in the Centre for Innovation, Technology and Enterprise belonging to the Institute of Education.
This is a modular course of 180 Masters level credits offered mostly in 30 credit units.
There are 3 mandatory units:
Educational Context, Policy and Organisation (30 credits) Practitioner Research Methodology (30 credits) Dissertation (60 credits) A range of elective units enable you to follow your specialist interest. These include:

The mandatory and taught units offered by the Institute of Education, will be held at the Crewe Campus, offering the opportunity to generate a cohort, professional identity and learning network.
Other units offered by the University's Business School will be held at their respective locations in central Manchester, although, depending on student numbers, it may be possible to offer them at the Crewe Campus.
Assessment is mostly through coursework, with a written unit assessment of 5,000 words, but the mode of assessment varies from unit to unit. Some unit assessments include oral presentations, others include examinations.
Designed especially for School Business Managers. Study with one of the major leaders in this field This is a modular Masters programme, which is shared between the University's Institute of Education, Business School and School of Law.
A good UK undergraduate honours degree (of at least a 2:1 classification) in a relevant subject, or qualifications or experience demonstrating intellectual qualities and communications skills necessary to study at Masters level, or an MMU Graduate Certificate in Management and Leadership.
UK and EU students part-time £660 per 30 credit unit.
