MA Autistic Spectrum Conditions

Course Description

These professional development courses aim to develop the knowledge, understanding and professional competence of staff working with individuals with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC). At the outset there is the opportunity to claim credit for prior learning that is relevant to the field of autism.

During the course you will increase your knowledge of theoretical perspectives on the nature, causation, and impact of ASC and will further develop your knowledge and skills with regard to assessment and approaches used with people with ASC.

Over the course of your study you will evaluate individual approaches, reflect upon how to enhance learning opportunities and consider how to work more effectively with colleagues, other professionals and parents.

As you progress you will become more aware of your own professional practice and will develop the ability to critically examine and reflect upon the benefits of different approaches to working with individuals with ASC.

Many students find that these courses are helpful in their professional development and are valued by services providing education, care and support to people with children, young people and adults with ASC.

Special Features

- Chance to claim credit for prior learning
