Master of Teaching (Birth to Five Years)

About This Masters Degree

Course Description

This degree enables graduates from diverse backgrounds to obtain a professional qualification as a teacher of young children. Employment of early childhood teachers in Australia is subject to government regulation and wages and conditions can vary significantly depending on the level of professional qualification achieved. A critical step in launching the Master of Teaching (Birth to Five Years) was therefore its successful accreditation by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). The name of the degree reflects both the specialist nature of teachers’ work in prior to school settings (such as preschools and long day care centres) and its status as an approved postgraduate qualification.
