About This Masters Degree
This program teaches students conference interpreting, which includes both advanced consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, providing simulated conference interpreting in a purpose -built laboratory. It offers regular self and peer analyses of interpreting work, and lets you learn from internationally renowned conference interpreters
It not only enhances students' domain-specific skills but broadens their extra-linguistic knowledge.

- One of very few, yet the largest conference interpreting program in Australian universities.
Suitable if you wish to become a professional conference interpreter, or if you are already working as a professional consecutive interpreter and want to learn simultaneous interpreting skills.
Please note this degree is only offered in Chinese (Mandarin). Japanese and Korean may be available subject to demand.

IELTS of 7.0 overall with minimum 6.5 in each band, or equivalent
All applicants for undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies at Macquarie University are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.

You may satisfy the English language requirements if you have completed:
- senior secondary studies equivalent to the NSW HSC
- one year of Australian or comparable tertiary study in a country of qualification
