Master of Advanced Conference Interpreting


Course Description

The program teaches research and practical skills involved in conference interpreting within simulated conference settings. It also prepares you to work as advanced interpreters in community and business contexts.

Key Features:

* You will have simulated conference interpreting experiences with state-of-the-art equipment complying with the standards of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC).
* You will conduct regular self and peer analyses of their interpreting work, and are taught by internationally renowned conference interpreters.
* A variety of units covering simultaneous interpreting, mock conferences, research methods and bilingualism.

Entry Requirements

* A Bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 in T&I, Linguistics, Language of Cultural Studies, or other related fields. * NAATI Professional Level Accreditation as an interpretor (or overseas equivalent) or completion of any postgraduate degree in translation and interpreting with at least a Distinction in one intermediate level core practical interpreting subject (eg. TRAN822 in the PG Diploma/Master in Translating and Interpreting at Macquarie University) - acceptance subject to case-by-case assessment.
