The program teaches research and practical skills involved in conference interpreting within simulated conference settings. It also prepares you to work as advanced interpreters in community and business contexts.
* You will have simulated conference interpreting experiences with state-of-the-art equipment complying with the standards of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC). * You will conduct regular self and peer analyses of their interpreting work, and are taught by internationally renowned conference interpreters. * A variety of units covering simultaneous interpreting, mock conferences, research methods and bilingualism.
* A Bachelor degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5 in T&I, Linguistics, Language of Cultural Studies, or other related fields. * NAATI Professional Level Accreditation as an interpretor (or overseas equivalent) or completion of any postgraduate degree in translation and interpreting with at least a Distinction in one intermediate level core practical interpreting subject (eg. TRAN822 in the PG Diploma/Master in Translating and Interpreting at Macquarie University) - acceptance subject to case-by-case assessment.
