Master of Speech & Language Pathology

Course Description

This degree will prepare you for the profession of Speech Pathology and enable you to work clinically with individuals with developmental or acquired communication disorders. The units covered will build on fundamental knowledge from linguistics, psychology, anatomy, and physiology. The comprehensive supervised clinical placements will provide you with many opportunities to develop skills in assessment, intervention, service delivery and other aspects of professional practice.

This degree follows the Speech Pathology Association of Australia Competency Based Standards for Speech Pathologists and is accredited by the Speech Pathology Association of Australia.

Entry Requirements

Bachelor of Speech and Hearing Sciences from Macquarie University or an equivalent degree from an Australian or overseas tertiary institution, or other Bachelor's degrees majoring in Psychology or Linguistics.If you have a degrees in an unrelated area, a qualifying program (such as Macquarie's Graduate Diploma of Speech and Communication) can be undertaken.Ideally, we are seeking students with a credit average from an undergraduate degree and a 1-2 page Personal Statement is required as part of the application. IELTS 7.0 is required.
