Designed for newcomers to TESOL, this is an initial course for entering the profession of second language teaching, and/or for qualified teachers to specialise in ESL in schools. Includes:
- methodologies for teaching English as a second/foreign language to learners of all ages and cultural backgrounds; - knowledge and understanding of linguistics as applied to second language learning and teaching; - selecting and preparing materials for classroom learning and teaching; - a practical classroom interactive teaching experience.
Provides a pathway to the Master of Applied Linguistics and TESOL.
Bachelor degree or recognised equivalent • Minimum English Language Proficiency: IELTS or IELTS equivalent of 6.5 overall, with minimum 6.0 in each band. Commences February and August. Can be completed in one semester (full-time) or over two or even three semesters.
