This diploma offers professional development for paraprofessional and professional level interpreters working between Auslan (Australian Sign Language) and English. You will develop your ability to be a critically reflective practitioner along with solid practical skills. This diploma provides you with a foundation of theory in translation and interpreting and a strong focus on the application of theory to practical skills development.
Flexible study options, the diploma is offered in a blended mode with a combination of distance/online study plus intensive 3-day on-campus blocks.
1. NAATI paraprofessional accreditation in Auslan/English awarded at least 2 years prior.2. Undergraduate degree (or equivalent in special circumstances).3. Fluency in Auslan and English, and a high level of English literacy.If you wish to request recognition for previous extensive interpreting experience in lieu of undergraduate qualifications, you may be considered on an individual basis, and you will be required to provide evidence of substantial professional development activity.
