The Division of Economic and Financial Studies/GACC and the Division of Information and Communication Sciences/PPDP jointly offer the MCom in Information Systems and Technology (MIST) and the Master of Information Technology (MIT) as a double degree program. Successful students will graduate with full recognition by Macquarie University that two postgraduate degrees have been earned.
The MIST/MIT double degree is designed as a career-relevant pathway for postgraduate students wishing to study in the combined areas of business, information systems and information technology. Holding the MIST/MIT postgraduate qualification will be an advantage to graduates seeking work in areas such as business information systems design, information technology management and electronic commerce.

Students commence the double degree with the MIST component. Students who do not achieve a 2.75 GPA will transfer to the MIST degree for graduation after meeting MIST degree requirements.

Applicants without sufficient university level business and information technology studies will be required to complete a preliminary program of four units equivalent to one semester of full-time study.
