Studying an MBA with LSM has contributed significantly to my knowledge in conducting academic research, which was truly my biggest challenge. During one of my meetings with my supervisor at LSM, I mentioned that I would like to study a PhD in business and he helped me by recommending a university and connecting me with it. Also, he provided me with the references required. As a result, I am currently a PhD researcher with Anglia Ruskin University. SINCE YOU HAVE LEFT LSM, HOW HAVE YOU PROGRESSED?
I was able to obtain a new job (straight after my graduation ceremony) as a Business Development Manager (BDM) for a major group operating in the Middle East. I am responsible for managing different projects related to pharmaceuticals and pharma marketing in the region and I travel there frequently. My job also involves dealing with major pharmaceutical companies based in Europe. I also provide lectures in UK-based academic institutions on many subjects, including digital marketing. I was able to transfer the knowledge I gained from the lectures I attended at LSM two years ago to what I am teaching now.
DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR FUTURE LSM STUDENTS?
The best advice that I can offer to an MBA student is to understand the importance of this qualification. Students should also plan ahead as it requires discipline and commitment. Also, it is vital to plan how to use this qualification and the knowledge gained from it in a way that can get students recognised when applying for jobs.
AND FINALLY, HOW WOULD YOU SUM UP YOUR EXPERIENCE AT LSM?
Obtaining a postgraduate qualification (Masters or Doctoral) is certainly the perfect way to be recognised as an academic and to have an academic career not only in the UK but also worldwide. As an MBA graduate and a current PhD researcher, I would strongly recommend studying an MBA course with LSM as it is a life changing experience.
