Course description
The course is designed to foster a purposeful and child-centred approach that makes a real difference to children’s services and student career satisfaction. This course is aimed at those with an interest in pursuing children’s studies from a variety of perspectives. There are four optional units to meet the individual needs of students.

Units are delivered as standalone at both undergraduate and Master’s level and students may access a number of units within the children’s nursing portfolio. In keeping with a philosophy of inter-professional working a number of units are designed to meet the education needs of the inter-professional team.

Career opportunities:
The course is designed as continuing professional development for those already in employment. Employment prospects are enhanced, with students gaining contemporary knowledge and skills which makes them ‘fit for purpose’.

Typical background of applicant:
Students are from a range of professional backgrounds working in children’s services, within the education, health and social care setting, as well as from Integrated Children’s Trusts.
