This MSc in International Human Resource Management will enable you to become a globally knowledgeable practitioner with an appreciation of multi-cultural international practice. You will be able to develop the organisation you work for, its commercial relationships and your own career.
This new CIPD approved MSc degree programme will develop your abilities to critically examine and apply contemporary approaches to HR management within organisations operating in a global environment. The programme builds professional core areas such as Resourcing and Talent Management, Managing Performance and Digital Engagement and Relationships. Recognising the growth of global consultancy, the programme contains the financial, project management and relationship skills needed to perform effectively. You will critically examine the needs of the global marketplace and the integration of skills, systems and knowledge required to enable organisations to operate efficiently and effectively in dynamic commercial environments.
Using international business case studies highlighting best practice across a variety of sectors, industries and stakeholders, you will also evaluate different approaches to managing and designing human resource strategy.

Developing Academic Business and Leadership Competencies
This module will develop your competencies as a postgraduate student, focusing on interpersonal, leadership, critical analysis and financial skills enabling you to demonstrate the application of sound business thinking in a HR context
Introduction to International HRM strategy and Context
By evaluating the impact on business and HR choices and strategies, you will critically analyse the major organisational and external contexts and constraints within which organisations operate across a range of business sectors globally
Management Theory and Leadership
This module is designed to enable you to critically evaluate HR's role within an international organisation context, and its contribution to HR strategy, organisational leadership and international organisational effectiveness
International Consultancy Skills
You will evaluate a range of competing international HRM frameworks from different perspectives, concepts and strategies for employment in contemporary global organisations
Managing Resourcing Strategy
During this module you will critique different management strategies, particularly organisational strategy, dedicated to attracting, managing and retaining talent. You will examine the barriers, challenges and opportunities which enable HR managers to maximise talent potential in the workforce
Organisation Development in an International Environment
You will critique organisational development (OD) stages and strategies in an international context, allowing you to examine the issues and opportunities surrounding OD programmes in an international HR environment
This module aims to develop your skills in order for you to research real-life workplace problems. You will learn the whole research process through workshop participation and conducting online exercises. By working on a real research problem, you will develop your skills in designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative research projects
Engagement in Digital Age
Examine the impact of digital HR on academic and professional practice. You will be required to demonstrate digital knowledge and skills through the composition of a digital presentation
Dissertation and Impact Report
You will be required to develop an independent and academically-rigorous research project using an international setting. You will be expected to use primary research methods, with a methodology and full literature review, culminating in a critical analytical discussion drawing out further areas for exploration, including potential new theoretical contributions to your chosen topic and recommendations for future academic research in your chosen area
