International Business, Corporate and Finance Law (LLM)


Course Description

This innovative taught LLM degree examines legal issues affecting business organisations operating in a global environment through a discrete programme of study in specific areas of international business, corporate, banking and finance law. Approved by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board, the course offers a range of modules taught by subject specialists.

This Masters of Laws programme focuses on specific areas of international business, corporate, banking and finance law.

It is a stand-alone qualification for those who wish to enhance their career prospects through acquiring vocationally relevant knowledge and skills in this particular field.

If you want to study the LLM but do not have a background in law, or if you who would prefer to refresh your legal studies, there is a short pre-course of study: Law for Non-Lawyers. This is not assessed but may be mandatory if you do not have a first degree in law.

The LLM is delivered by academics highly involved in research within their specific subject area, a blend of career young research active lecturers, qualified and former practitioners of law and internationally established experts in their field. Members of staff at the School of Law carry out research in Law (UK, International and Dispute Resolution) and Criminal Justice.

In order to be considered for this degree, you will need to have:•An appropriate honours degree e.g. in Law, Finance, Banking or Accounting or a professional qualification deemed to be equivalent to an appropriate honours degree.•Degree classification: 2:2.•Qualifications and previous work experience deemed to be equivalent to the above entry requirements and in suitable areas linked to the award.•Non-law graduates will be required to undertake a short pre-course – ‘Law for Non-Lawyers’ immediately prior to the start of the LLM. It is not assessed, but essential.
