This programme provides a progression route from postgraduate initial teacher training programmes incorporating 60 or 120 credits at level 7.
The course is extremely flexible and part time study enables you integrate your learning with your professional role.
University-based study includes three full day blocks (one per term) and twilight seminars where tutorial support is also available. The conference-style, whole day sessions involve interactive learning with lectures, seminars and workshops. The practical applications of the course may involve integration of study with your professional activity in school or college.
Tutorial support is an important part of the development process and you will receive a personalised service that will enable you to set targets and achieve to your highest potential.
Personal tutors and other members of the academic team are accessible at scheduled times during the programme and will also be able to provide guidance via email as appropriate.
To keep on top of your study you should be prepared to set aside between five and 10 hours per week (evenings and weekends) for preparatory work to support your study. You will have access to LJMU learning resources including our libraries and online learning services for independent study.
Taught sessions mostly take place at the IM Marsh campus, four miles outside Liverpool centre, although some sessions may take place in the city. The campus library, open 8am to 11pm, houses the main collections linked to this course and you will also have access to the 24 hour, city centre Aldham Robarts and Avril Robarts libraries.
