Graduate Diploma of International Politics

Course Description

This course is offered on a full fee paying basis to eligible domestic students. Fees are established per unit and can be found in the unit descriptions within the course schedule. Click on 'View fees for this unit' and select 'Tuition fee (domestic) Post 2008' as the fee type.

The Graduate Diploma in International Politics is offered at the Hobart campus and by distance. It is normally a 1 academic year (or 2 semesters) full-time or up to 2 years (or 4 semesters) part-time program. Students may enrol for semester 1 or semester 2 entry.

The Graduate Diploma in International Politics aims to provide a quality tertiary qualification at the postgraduate level in a professional coursework program. The course aims to provide students with:
*a thorough grounding in analytical theory and practice;
*broader knowledge of recent developments in the field; and
*skills to appraise research critically.

[[English Language Requirements]]
International applicants will be required to provide evidence of their English language ability.
For those applicants who are nationals of and currently residing in a country where English is NOT the official language, evidence of an IELTS or TOEFL test must be provided.
Alternatively, applicants can provide evidence that English has been the sole medium of instruction and examination in their most recent studies, for a minimum of 2 years, and within the last 24 months. Academic transcripts and a letter from your institution will be required.

Entry Requirements

Students are normally expected to have a minimum of a bachelor degree from the University of Tasmania or from another university or tertiary institution which is deemed equivalent, and a level of English equivalent to a score of 6.0 on an IELTS test. In exceptional circumstances the Faculty may admit a person with some other tertiary qualification and relevant employment experience. Students seeking entry into postgraduate courses based on employment experience only (i.e. no bachelor degree), will generally only be allowed entry at Graduate Certificate level.
