MSc International Accounting & Finance has been designed to critically develop your understanding of accounting within an international context. This programme will allow you to build on the accounting and finance knowledge you have gained during your undergraduate studies and to develop the necessary expertise to take on senior management roles within a global environment.
You will focus on the application of knowledge to a real world global context by studying modules such as International Finance, International Business and International Taxation and Accounting. This programme has a strong international orientation and as such introduces you to accounting in a wider global context.

Learning, teaching and assessment You will be assessed through a mixture of examinations and coursework. The taught element of the programme is then complemented by a substantial piece of research leading to the completion of a final project.
Course Director Angela Lorenz Angela joined Aston Business School in 2013. Prior to that, she spent a number of years at the University of Gloucestershire teaching and developing the undergraduate, postgraduate and professional accounting curriculum. Angela qualified as a Management Accountant (CIMA) in 1999, and combines her practical experience of working with small firms in a management and decision making context with her academic experience.
Personal development You will acquire skills in the following areas: giving presentations; team working; report writing; negotiation and IT skills. Modules taught on this MSc will enable you to develop a wide range of technical and transferable skills and knowledge highly relevant to a wide range of graduate careers where analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and planning are required.
Career opportunities This programme will develop your expertise in both accounting and finance, while allowing you to gain the necessary skills for senior management roles in those areas. Positions may include: auditor, financial accountant, tax accountant, financial analyst, decision analyst, management accountant or financial manager.
One of the following: a good UK honours degree (minimum lower second class), equivalent overseas degree recognised by Aston University (degree in accounting/ finance/ related subject area). As well as: two professional references, at least one must be from an academic referee, an official academic transcript of your university grades to date, a completed application form. For International Students: an official academic transcript, with an official English translation, of your university grades to date, students whose native language is not English will also need to satisfy our English language requirements. Pre-sessional English language programmes are available for good applicants.
