MSc Business Analytics has been designed to help you gain the skills and qualifications needed to pursue a career in business analytics. This programme will equip you with the quantitative skills needed to understand and engage with complex data as well as the analytical tools to drive business advantage. Learning, teaching and assessment You will be assessed through a mixture of examinations and coursework. The taught element of the programme is then complemented by a substantial piece of research leading to the completion of a dissertation. You should ensure that your choice of elective modules is consistent with your intended dissertation topic area.
Course director Dr Leonidas Anastasakis Leonidas’ research interests include business forecasting, time series analysis, predictive analytics in business processes, e-commerce and adoption of innovations. He holds a BSc in Automation from the Department of Automation at the Technological Institute of Piraeus. He gained his MSc (with Distinction) in Control Systems from the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering and PhD in the area of Business Forecasting from the University of Sheffield.
Career opportunities This programme will prepare you for a range of specialist careers as a consultant, data analyst, manager or business analyst. Modern businesses in the UK and worldwide have a great need for professionals with analytical planning and big data analysis skills.

One of the following: a good UK honours degree (minimum lower second class), equivalent overseas degree recognised by Aston University (you will need to demonstrate strong quantitative skills). As well as: two professional references, at least one must be from an academic referee, an official academic transcript of your university grades to date, a completed application form. For International Students: an official academic transcript, with an official English translation of your university grades to date, students whose native language is not English will also need to satisfy our English language requirements. Pre-sessional English language programmes are available for good applicants.
