The School of Creative Technologies’ researchers have a wide range of interests across the Creative Technologies

multidisciplinary area, from the very artistic to the highly technical.

The School boasts a wide range of high-tech laboratories and cutting-edge technology. By having researchers at the

leading edge of our technologies and with strong industry backgrounds, students in the School are able to use our

outstanding hardware/software to build applications ranging from advanced ‘intelligent’ prosthetic limbs to award-winning films.

Our active research centre (CiTech) covers a range of topics from understanding how technology is being, and will be

used, to support creative areas such as computer games design, narrative, animation, web/mobile applications and

sound composition, to developing the technology itself to support a range of new applications in areas such as

healthcare, library, security and education.
