What’s it like to study a Masters in Wageningen?

It has a reputation as a student town, thanks to the Wageningen University & Research, and students make up around 20% of the population.
Wageningen underwent heavy destruction during the Second World War. However, it was also the location of the surrender of German troops in the Netherlands – the terms of capitulation were signed at Wageningen’s Hotel de Wereld, and to this day the town hosts a famous annual Liberation Day festival.
Despite its rural location, Wageningen still offers rich cultural and social opportunities, with a selection student clubs, bars, restaurant theatres and cinemas.
Wageningen has many museums to visit, including the Airborne Museum Hartenstein, De Casteelse Poort Museum, the Het Depot sculpture gallery, the Kröller-Müller Museum and sculpture garden, and the Netherlands Open Air Museum.
There are also many parks in the town, such as the Wageningen Botanical Gardens and the nearby Hoge Veluwe National Park. The River Rhine floodplains offer stunning views and the chance to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and cycling.
