Module Details

This part-time, work-based course allows you to fit studying easily with work and other commitments. It is also suitable for in-company delivery.

Teaching is delivered in one mid-week teaching block from Tuesday to Friday, after which there will be a period of self-study so that you can do research and prepare your research proposal and dissertation.

The learning element of the course focuses on research management and research methods. This will prepare you to complete a dissertation, but will also cover the nature of knowledge, the evaluation of information and managing a research project. It involves numerical and word-based analysis techniques.

The supported self-study element of this award is a 13,000-word dissertation on a sales management topic, which you may opt to produce alongside an in-company change project, such as auditing a strategic account management programme, sales employee retention programme, improving sales forecasting, or redesigning trade retail outlets.

The dissertation focuses on the collection, analysis and interpretation of both academic and commercial information. It is designed to provide you with an opportunity to apply research techniques for the planning, implementation and presentation of your dissertation. It enables you to demonstrate mastery of a sales management topic by examining both theory and application using primary and secondary data sources.

Programme Assessment

During this final stage of the programme, teaching is delivered solely through lectures and syndicate discussions. We will encourage you to explore your own life and work experiences in order to provide a context for your final self-study dissertation. This approach to learning and development brings real and often immediate benefits to you and your employer.

Assessment is through a research proposal and dissertation on an agreed topic of specific interest to you or your employer.

The Institute for Work Based Learning delivers these programmes with our strategic partners at Consalia.

We offer two routes to gaining a Post Graduate Masters in Sales Transformation. One programme is for sales leaders, the other for sales professionals involved in selling complex solutions. These are unique programmes. They focus on applying world-class, leading-edge thinking and expertise in leadership and sales to participants’ transformation goals in their own organisations.

The Masters programmes provide organisations with the first opportunity to offer academic recognition to their sales leaders and salespeople for their sales experience and excellence in a work environment. Both programmes are totally focused on sales roles and based on proven practices for performance improvement and real-world learning.

The purpose of these programmes is to improve the professional status of salespeople, which is all too often overlooked, and to provide organisations with important research and innovation on sales practices. Modules designed by Consalia and validated by Middlesex University are included in each.

Both Masters programmes can be tailored to an organisation’s specific approach to sales and sales management. The Masters programmes can, therefore, be fully integrated with an organisation’s sales management and sales curriculum. If participants already have the skills/knowledge due to prior learning then they can complete the work-based project without further formal input (or with reduced input).

The programmes are offered on an in-company basis, as a series of modules to be run over a period of 18 months to two years. Each module consists of either a two or three day facilitated workshop.

Key benefits

The UK’s only work based MSc in Sales Transformation
Distance and blended learning so there is no need to take time off work
Work-applied practical projects
Online meetings and lectures from industry leaders
Business simulations
Accreditation for prior learning (APL), allowing you to gain credit for prior study/work experience

Flexible study through distance learning

Many students choosing to study MSc Sales Transformation will be practitioners in full-time employment, with this in mind, we have designed the course to be flexible around your work and life commitments. You will be able to complete the course part-time through blended and distance learning. However, it would be also possible to shorten this to 12 months depending on how much time you can commit to the course.

The first five modules are delivered and assessed by Consalia. The final module and Masters project is delivered, supervised and assessed by Middlesex University. The academic award is made by Middlesex University.

Who should do this course?

The course is specifically aimed at experienced professionals who currently work in a highly competitive sales arena.

In an international business climate, which has undergone tumultuous economic change during the last decade, graduates with excellent marketing awareness and management skills have never been in greater demand. The shifting balance in world trade, the emergence of fast growing economies plus an increasing pool of world consumers means that businesses need to be increasingly focused on how they develop their competitive marketing strategies.

Internships can be part-time or full-time but must fit around your scheduled classes. A dedicated team are on hand to guide you through this process.

The MA International Fashion Marketing brings together two disciplines for which Regent’s is internationally renowned – fashion and marketing – to provide future fashion marketing managers and directors with the practical and intellectual skills to lead and succeed in the vibrant and fast-changing fashion industry.

Our MA programme has been developed in consultation with industry experts and designed to ensure that our graduates are best placed to capitalise on new opportunities presented by the most sustained period of creative disruption in fashion since the industrial revolution.

Technological innovation is challenging long-established fashion systems and changing the ways in which the industry markets itself globally. Dynamic and fast-paced by nature, the industry is set to continue this period of disruption for the foreseeable future.

Our programme will place you at the heart of the fashion-business revolution, located in central London, the heartland of fashion.

In addition, you will benefit from a study trip to Milan, included in the fees, and have the opportunity to go to Paris and New York, covering all four of fashion’s premier destinations.

Why should I choose this programme?

If London is the fashion capital of the world, Regent’s is surely the best place to study in London. Located in royal Regent’s Park, we are often considered to have the most beautiful campus in the UK’s capital city – and with our sister site in neighbouring Marylebone Village, a haven for fashion and design, there is no better location.

The programme itself is thoroughly grounded in well-established fashion marketing theory and practice, while also focused on developing your personal, professional and leadership skills, as well as your ability to think creatively in response to change.

You will enter the industry in a climate of disruption and uncertainty, particularly to supply chain management and fashion marketing communications, but you will relish the opportunities that this presents.

We encourage students from different disciplinary backgrounds to join our cohort, not only business.

Based on years of experience, we consider there to be five essential elements to gaining the best possible postgraduate education in international fashion marketing and ensuring the most rewarding time as a student.

The best education in fashion marketing is:

‌•Intimate
‌•Intensive
‌•International
‌•Industry-focused
‌•Independent
‌•Intimate

Our teaching philosophy is based on personal attention: our classes are small, with a maximum cohort size of 20. Every student gets to know their lecturers and peers, and you will benefit from more contact time with teaching staff than you would elsewhere. The Regent’s mission is to develop tomorrow’s global leaders: we know that developing you as a future leader in international fashion marketing is most effectively done in an intimate learning environment.

Intensive

Our MA programme is dynamic and intensive, combining modular study with field trips, masterclasses, live projects and industry opportunities. We will immerse you in the fashion industry and the discipline of fashion marketing for the duration of the programme, as well as provide you with the connections to succeed thereafter.

International

There is no better place to study international fashion marketing than Regent’s. With students from over 140 nationalities spread across a small community of 3,500 full-time students, we can confidently claim to be the most internationally diverse university in the UK. With an unmatched international focus and a range of study opportunities at key destinations abroad, our MA programme is truly global.

Industry-focused

As well as being industry-focused in its design and content, your programme is delivered by practitioner lecturers, and encompasses live projects with industry as well as masterclasses with influential industry professionals.

In order to prepare you for careers in international fashion marketing, you will begin your relationship with staff from our dedicated Careers & Business Relations team from Day One, many of whom will jointly deliver your teaching on relevant modules.

Independent

As a private institution, independence is our legal status, but it is also an attitude of mind. We make an intellectual claim on independence, and our students are encouraged to think and operate with independence and individuality.

This is essential to success in both marketing and fashion. By the time you graduate you will have developed your own unique approach to international fashion marketing and your own strengths in relation to the industry.

Key skills, aims and objectives

As an aspiring fashion marketing manager or director, the aim of the MA International Fashion Marketing is to give you the intellectual and practical knowledge to create and implement a fashion marketing strategy within the complex, fast-changing and dynamic international context of the contemporary fashion industry, and to develop the skills necessary to lead and succeed in your future career.

The main educational objectives of the programme are to:

Provide an inspiring learning environment – an environment where you can feel confident that you are acquiring the knowledge and skills that will fully equip you to enter the international fashion industry as a consummate professional
Develop you as a distinctive individual – a professional who is capable of independent, innovative and entrepreneurial thinking in relation to complex and changing contexts
Hone your critical and creative thinking – offering you the opportunity to learn to apply critical, analytical and creative thinking to theoretical and practical fashion marketing briefs

Develop your intercultural intelligence – ensuring a sound knowledge of international fashion marketing management for international markets
