What’s it like to study a Masters in Sunderland?

Sunderland’s history goes back to its time as an Anglo-Saxon settlement in the 7th century, when a local monastery became the site of Britain’s first example of a stained glass window. The 18th and 19th centuries saw Sunderland at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution, developing robust coal, shipbuilding and manufacturing sectors.

The University of Sunderland is the only university in the city, with just over 13,000 students enrolled. Although it received university status in 1992, the University of Sunderland’s roots can be traced back to 1901, when Sunderland Technical College was established.
