This course aims to introduce the basic mathematical concept and to develop arguments presented in the introductory section in order to provide students with operational tools to be applied both during this course and in other courses where quantitative methods are used, namely in Financial Mathematics or Statistics. At the end of this course, students will have mastered the appropriate tools to better understand both mathematical and quantitative aspects of economic models.

Objectives

As a graduate of the computer network programme you will how to design, implement maintenance modern information and communication technologies and tools for managing and utilizing global networks, among others, in business. As a graduate of software engineering programme, you will be specialist of modern techniques and tools for software development and maintenance.The study in English gives you a better chance for a career in IT and overcomes the boundaries opening global job market for graduate. The program is adjusted to the job market – software engineers and computer network specialists are most wanted on job market.Authorized trainings: CCNA and CCNA Security or CCNP are included in study plan in Computer Networks programme, Microsoft and Oracle are included in study plan in Software Engineering programme.

Teaching Methodology

CSSS offers blended study with an elevated level of autonomy in time and place. Blended learning is an education program that combines online digital media with traditional classroom methods students can download the teaching and learning materials from CSSS and work on them when and where it suits them. They work autonomously in time and place but are always in contact with faculty, fellow students and the CSSS’s support services. While students still attend "brick-and-mortar" CSSS with a teacher present, face-to-face classroom practices are combined with computer-mediated activities regarding content and delivery.They work autonomously in time and place but are always in contact with faculty, fellow students and the CSSS’s support services.

Through the personal customized learning environment on CSSS, students receive the latest updates, e-mails, and all the information which are necessary to concentrate fully on the studies. Exercises and tests to check the personal progress, plus learning forums and moderated chats, further facilitate the blending study process.

Course Structure

The Master in City & Technology is an innovative educational format that offers interdisciplinary skills and understanding through the researching on new categories of projects, technologies and solutions related with information and communication technologies in urban environments. IAAC gives students the opportunity to  create individual Studio agendas and develop Pilot Thesis Projects based on Citizen Innovation, Cities New Business Models, Urban Apps, Smart City Infrastructures, new Citizen-based Services, Open Data Development and more. In this way, IAAC puts together an experimental and learning environment for the training of professionals with both theoretical and practical responses to the increasing complexity of contemporary urban environments. Students have the opportunity to be part of a highly international group, including faculty members, researchers and lecturers, in which they are encouraged to develop collective decision-making processes and materialise their project ideas. The aim of the IAAC is to form graduates who, after the completion of the programme, will be able to develop their acquired skills in a diversity of professional environments, related with the transformation and management of cities and technologies of information.
