As healthcare professionals we know that environment has an influence on all processes. Thus this postgraduate degree wishes to position cardiovascular risk in relation to our social environment and our daily life, in addition to using other scientific information to reach a comprehensive understanding of cardiovascular disease. We work with and for people and our knowledge is for their benefit. It is for patients and society that we require deep and updated knowledge, so that we can open up new scientific horizons in order to improve the health of our patients, and society in general.

Cardiovascular disease, with its added risk factors, today accounts for 35% of routine medical activity in both doctors' surgeries and hospitals and is therefore a highly prevalent pathology with very high healthcare costs and repercussions on the daily lives of patients and their families, and on the healthcare system and employment market. Currently, diagnosis and follow up is very fragmented and involves many medical specialities; our patients are thus seen as having their pathology spread over various specialities.

The objective of this postgraduate degree is to learn to see these patients holistically. The course is therefore organised according to the parameters of everyday medical practice and seeks to provide the student with the maximum number of skills so as to be able to be at the centre of the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up for these patients.
