What’s it like to study a Masters in Shrivenham?
Shrivenham is a typical English countryside village – it has several thatched cottages, traditional pubs, old stone walls and a Norman church. However, it’s also the only English village that can claim to specialise in postgraduate study – the Cranfield University campus only offers qualifications at Masters level and above.
Though small, Shrivenham is a great base from which to explore the surrounding Oxfordshire area. It is situated in the Vale of White Horse, so-named for the neighbouring Uffington White Horse ancient chalk hill carving. It’s also nearby the Cotswolds and North Wessex Downs areas of natural beauty.
Shrivenham is close to the large town of Swindon (home of UKRI – one of the UK’s biggest postgraduate funding bodies), and is only a short journey from Bath, Cheltenham, Bristol, Oxford and London.

It partners with King’s College London, SERCO UK and Europe, and Cranfield University (which has its own campus and courses at Shrivenham) to provide higher education courses for British Armed Forces personnel focussing on Leadership, Command, Technology, Business and International Engagement.
