The School of Food Science and Nutrition has always been a leader in the teaching of food science. It has built up a reputation over more than forty years as one of the world's leading institutions at which to study this subject.
In the RAE (Research Assessment Exercise) no similar school in the UK can match our performance over 3 cycles of review. We continue to collaborate with major food producers and other academic institutions - a sign of both the high quality research we undertake, and the relevance of our degrees for the needs of today's food industry.
Our teaching is rated as "excellent" by the Quality Assessment Exercise.
We currently offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses covering food science and nutrition, each with a variety of potential specialist options. We have designed these courses with a mind to providing you with a very broad range of alternative career options.
