We've been helping students find the right postgraduate course for over a decade.
The School of Education at the University of Sheffield offers postgraduate courses of the highest quality to foster critical and informed engagement with educational theory, policy and practice. Research which makes a difference is central to all our teaching.
Our programmes are taught by tutors who are active in their respective research areas, and are well known, nationally and internationally for their work. Students on the postgraduate programmes are therefore given the opportunity to learn about high-quality research as it is being conducted. They are also supported in carrying out their own research studies in their own professional work contexts. In many cases, students' work is also published and shared with the wider research community. In these ways, studying at the School of Education at Sheffield provides students with the opportunity to make a difference in their own professional settings in the confidence that their own research is rigorous, policy-related and relevant.
Our students currently include:
* Teachers and lecturers in nursuries, schools, community settings, colleges and universities;
* Support staff in schools and interdisciplinary services;
* Administrators in local government, voluntary sector organisations, charities and other agencies;
* Practitioners and policy-makers in nursing studies, social services and home office professions.
