ACCA is recognised globally. This course is designed to allow those who have successfully completed (or been granted exemptions from) papers F1-F9 to complete their ACCA Professional papers in just nine months.
These papers are taught at the Business School by experienced accountancy specialists who share close links with the accounting bodies. In the Autumn term you will study one essential paper with a December exam, before studying the remaining essential paper and two option papers to the June exams.
Throughout the programme you are encouraged to apply advanced professional skills and techniques that are used by an expert accountant acting in an advisory role at a senior level.

This programme is aimed at students who intend to develop academically in parallel with furthering their professional qualification and careers. It has been developed in partnership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and provides a basis for the development of analytical and professional skills consistent with the integrated approach the University and ICAEW take to accounting, finance and business education.
You will take one core course and two optional courses, and complete a substantive independent work portfolio. One element of the portfolio is being modelled on the requirements of the final (capstone) ICAEW case study assessment, which is designed to help you to apply your learning within a practice based case environment. This allows you to acquire the capabilities necessary for leading positions in contemporary professional environments, and to do so in a time efficient manner.
The programme provides you with an excellent foundation for progressing the skills of the professional of tomorrow. It actively develops your analytical and evaluative skills that help you adapt to the needs of the business environment you will operate in. When you complete the programme, you will have a skill set attractive to international professional accounting firms and leading industrial companies. In addtion, you will have had the benefit of the University of Glasgow’s excellent accounting provision, linked to the significant professional benefits of the accredited learning partner, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) - a leading professional membership organisation with significant global reach.

Our new and innovative MFA Acting builds on the success of GSA’s current postgraduate programme by extending the high-quality, intensive training currently offered on our one year MA Acting programme. The MFA Acting programme is highly selective and intensive: students train for four semesters over two years, taking classes in acting, voice, movement and professional development, exploring a wide range of theatre traditions and performance styles in rehearsal projects and public productions.
This unique programme is delivered by expert teachers with extensive first-hand experience in the professional theatre sector in both the UK and the US.
Our beautiful campus boasts strong transport links to London, meaning our students can easily benefit from GSA’s proximity to the heart of UK theatre; London’s West End. This means our students not only receive world-class training, but are also heavily exposed to London theatre, cultural activities and highly beneficial industry networks.
This programme is studied full-time over four consecutive semesters and two academic years.
