This MSc aims to offer health and social care professionals, and graduates in related fields, the opportunity to explore the complex health and social needs of older individuals living in today’s society. It provides high quality integrated and multidisciplinary education in the field of ageing, health and disease through the teaching and learning opportunities in the modules.

The teaching draws on the latest thinking and research evidence in the field and the course is open to a range of health and social care professionals, mirroring the multidisciplinary nature of gerontology.

The course starts in September each year and is full-time over one year (approximately nine months for the taught stage plus three months for the dissertation).

You may exit the course early with a Postgraduate Certificate if you successfully complete 60 credits, including the Foundations of Geriatric Medicine module. Alternatively, you may leave with a Postgraduate Diploma if you successfully complete 120 credits, including the Foundations of Geriatric Medicine module.

The MSc in Clinical Dermatology is designed specifically for doctors with a special interest in dermatology after gaining at least one year of general medical experience.

The course aims to give a firm grounding in the fundamentals of clinical and scientific dermatology, with priority given to clinical instruction but also an emphasis on the scientific content of dermatology.

It is particularly suitable for overseas medical graduates, but is also appropriate as an additional course to contribute to any dermatology specialist training programme. Most students are self-funded, though some obtain awards from the British Council, respective Governments, Commonwealth Universities Scholarships and employers.

The MSc comprises seven modules delivered using face-to-face teaching at the Welsh Institute of Dermatology at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, UK.

This one-year, full-time or three-year, part-time course aims to:

• Provide the academic component of general professional training and facilitate passing the MRCPsych examinations.
• Develop students’ critical independence, intellectual integrity, and practical skills with specific reference to psychiatry.
• Enable doctors to become well informed, clinically proficient eclectic psychiatrists, OR to give non-medical graduates an in depth knowledge of the field of Psychiatry and its practice, to enable them to further their careers in a field supplementary to Psychiatry and work in more informed relationships with Psychiatrists where appropriate.

The course is delivered online, with a requirement to travel to Cardiff, or another exam centre overseas, only for the final exams.
