This, in part, is due to increasing competition and a business imperative which recognises that in order to achieve competitive advantage, efficiency and success of each and every project is important.

This exciting new Masters in Applied Project Management contextualises the practice of project management within specific sectors and provides the graduate with the generic skills and competences required to fulfil their business and organisational needs.

The practical approach to teaching and learning is enhanced through added three distinct pathways of Environment, Computing and Enterprise Management and a final dissertation allowing for even further focusing against your choices career sector. There are seven taught modules ranging from Principles of Project Management to Professional Enquiry Methods with two being from your selected pathway.

The part-time Saturday version would see the learner working within their career sector and building upon that knowledge base. To help support learning experience a week long module is offered in April each academic year which additionally helps balance the workload and completion within two years.

The final assignment is an individually developed document requiring to conduct research on the use of projects in an organisation. There is no examination for the modules and assessment weighting is 40/60.

There are only a total of five modules that require examinations as part of their end assessment for the course with maximum of only four examinations required for selected pathways.

Project Management is the discipline of planning, organising and executing projects effectively and efficiently. The course promotes an independent and self-motivating approach to learning by encouraging you to develop real-world technical expertise to effectively innovate, design, develop and operate a range of digital audio systems. Upon graduation you will be prepared as a professional, equipped with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to develop a successful career as a digital audio engineer.

The course provides you the opportunity to engage in a wide range of digital audio application developments and potential collaborations with postgraduate students in other areas of the university. These include music technology, software engineering other subject areas in the School of Computing and Engineering and the London College of Music.

The development of learning skills includes processes and activities such as critical appraisal, reflection, literature searching, information technology, peer review, group work, presentation, research, practice/professional skills, note-taking, writing skills, electronic information retrieval, communication skills and independent study at home. These skills will be an integral part of learning courses.

The course modules will enable you to evidence your ability to combine different but related audio engineering subjects in an applied manner. Students from a variety of undergraduate backgrounds in related subjects will be able to enrol and succeed on the course. The type of undergraduate courses students may join the MSc from include:

Course Summary

This course meets the stage one Health Psychology training requirements developed by the Division of Health Psychology of the British Psychological Society. Our graduates are successful in working/studying in industry, academia, charitable organisations and the NHS.

The course provides a complete grounding in the theory, themes, professional issues and practical skills central to stage one Health Psychology training. The course has established links with health organisations where students gain work experience and carry out research.

Students can carry out health psychology research with the School of Pharmacy at University College London (UCL): research is jointly supervised by Chartered Health Psychologists at UWL and UCL. UCL School of Pharmacy is one of the most highly rated pharmacy schools in the UK.

You will be encouraged to present your work at health psychology conferences. Students who successfully complete the course have fulfilled the stage one training requirements which are a first step towards Chartered Psychologist status and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Health Psychologist.

When does the course run

The full-time course runs on Monday and Tuesday each week for two semesters followed by time to complete the dissertation. Part-time students attend on Mondays or Tuesdays depending on which stage of the course they are at. We offer you the flexibility to switch from full-time to part-time.
