You will need to produce development work for three advertising campaigns concentrating on the research, proposition and reasoning behind your ideas for each campaign. The work will also record the processes by which you generated ideas, the rationale for choosing one creative idea to move forward on: i.e. responses to peer critique or tutor feedback. You will be expected to document your process in a sketchbook as well as writing a creative report documenting your understanding of the briefs, your research and validating your creative decisions.

Manchester Metropolitan University has been undertaking a review of the long-term future of academic provision at its Cheshire campus. It has now been confirmed that the University will withdraw from the Cheshire campus. This means that we expect the campus to close in the summer of 2019.

As the withdrawal from the campus will be a phased process we are still pleased to receive applications for one year full time postgraduate taught courses starting in 2017 on the Cheshire campus. We also continue to welcome applications for part time postgraduate courses of two years in duration in the Exercise and Sport Science department starting in 2017. This course is based on theories and techniques relating to the study of communication, the message and its channels; with a specific focus upon the behaviour and interactions of provider(s) and receiver(s). Its aim is to equip you with the requisite knowledge and skill sets to assess the credibility of content, its delivery and, where relevant, any potential deception and assessment of intentions, motivations and/or emotional states. The interdisciplinary programme will develop your research skills in Communication Behaviour and Credibility Analysis drawing on the core disciplines of Linguistics, Psychology, Sociology and Information and Communications. This includes the specialist areas of Forensic Linguistics, Criminology, Communication Theory and Digital Information.

Length

Students entering the MSc with 60 credits of accredited prior learning (APL) typically take 20 months to complete the programme of study. They commence their first year of studies in January and move into the second year in September.

There is also the option of those entering the MSc with 60 credits to commence their studies in September on a 12 month course. It should be noted, however, that this particular avenue is an intensive one, requiring students to be able to study almost full time.

Students entering the MSc with 90 credits of accredited prior learning (APL) typically take 12 months to complete the programme of study. This programme of study commences in September.
