We've been helping students find the right postgraduate course for over a decade.
We are the best mathematical department in the country, as assessed in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF), with the largest number of staff submissions and the highest percentage of 4* research ("quality that is world-leading in terms of originality, significance and rigour").
The department currently has 13 Fellows of the Royal Society and over 300 graduates and faculty united in their passion for their subject. Whether you're interested in analytic number theory, mathematical biology, or geometric group theory, the academic environment will enable you to reach your full potential.
As a student at Oxford you are a member of the University, the department, and one of 35 colleges. The University provides libraries (including the Bodleian which has over 11 million books), clubs and societies, and sports' facilities (although colleges also have sports' facilities and their own libraries). The University also provides support for students with disabilities through its Disability Advisory Service, provides bursaries and scholarships for students, and when you graduate your degree will be from the University of Oxford.
