Leading to a professional qualification in social work, UCLan’s MA Social Work course has been developed in close co-operation with social work agencies in the voluntary, independent and statutory sectors and in conjunction with service users and carers.
The PGCert award offers the opportunity of postgraduate study for practitioners in social work and social care in settings beyond specialist child care, adult and mental health teams, for example.
This is the first course of its kind here in the UK and is building on growing interest in social pedagogy. The course links to the successful BA Hons in Social Pedagogy, Advocacy and Participation which is run here at UCLan and has excellent student feedback.
The MA in Contemporary Practice with Children and Young People will enhance your knowledge and academic confidence. It provides specialist knowledge in children’s rights and participation and child safeguarding as well as an introduction to a broad range of practical, legal and theoretical approaches.
