You’ll be taught the core principles of fashion business and management through a range of approaches, including lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops, and will undertake both formative and summative assessment including reflective personal blogs and journals.

The course will support you in developing your practice through relevant research, a deep understanding of how the fashion industry operates, and engagement with global fashion brands, in order to plan and produce a major project that is unique to you.

Running throughout the course is a strong emphasis on both independent research and participatory group work. If you’re a full time student, you’ll have scheduled teaching for up to two days a week, as well as access to workshops and studios for a further three days (as agreed with your tutor). You’ll also have access to the industry lectures and workshops that form part of the wider postgraduate programme around the culture of design, fashion and business.

Our Masters course will help you to develop the skills needed to work at a high level in fashion brand management and operations management, as well as within entrepreneurial fashion business ventures.

Our Postgraduate programmes share a dedicated MA base room and ample workshop spaces. The course also offers both a nurturing learning environment and a strong business-facing culture, enriched by our close connections with the fashion industry, and you’ll develop the skills needed to work at a high level in fashion business and management when you graduate.

The idea of a Fashion Business Management MA was formulated in discussion with industry leaders. Building on the success of our Fashion Merchandise Management courses and in particular the close collaboration with industry we spoke extensively to senior fashion executives. Many felt that although doing an MA in Fashion Business Management would not ensure promotion, potential candidates who learn how to apply the knowledge they gain from the course can become leaders who can inspire others. Those candidates need to understand the values and culture of the industry and, most importantly, recognise the difference between information and knowledge and have clearly defined goals.

This support from industry is important both for you as a student and for the future development and relevance of the MA. Accredited internship

All students on our full-time business Masters courses can apply to undertake the PG/MBA Internship Programme Reflective Practitioner Module. This is an 8 week unpaid accredited internship, which can be taken in addition to option modules and will help students to gain invaluable work experience. The internships, which are with London-based organisations, take place during the summer period. To apply, students must submit a completed application form and a copy of their updated CV to the Business Experience Team; the team then shortlist from the applications and conduct group meetings with the applicants.

Ultimately it is up to our internship employers to decide whether they would like to interview the candidate(s) and offer him/her an internship. We have received very positive feedback from both postgraduate students and employers and expect that the internship programme will continue to remain popular amongst our students.

The market for postgraduate qualifications in logistics and supply chain management (SCM) has been growing rapidly. Companies are demanding that senior managers are better qualified and better prepared to address the deeper issues involved in the twin goals of cost reduction and service enhancement.

This programme offers a unique curriculum that includes many practical examples of logistics and SCM in action. We are one of very few university programmes in the UK which has been accredited by both the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS). This means that students are recognised by these professional bodies as holding their professional qualifications to full professional status level 6 upon completion of the Masters programme. The programme tries to explore the key notions of transport and logistics and discusses new approaches to the design and analysis of transport and logistics systems. In addition to the basic concepts of passenger and freight transport, and local and global logistics, the programme focuses on contemporary issues, such as e-business, transport systems modelling, and environmental issues in transport and logistics, thus ensuring it is up to date and fit for the current needs of employers.

The programmes is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). This means that students are recognised by this professional body as holding their professional qualifications to full professional status level 6 upon completion of the Master's programme. Students participate in CILT activities, including the CILT student conference. This Master's degree offer a strategic perspective on marketing management, a discipline that is increasingly being seen as critical to success in achieving business goals, and as a core function in many organisations. Depending on your choice of modules, your final award could be either Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MSc).

Students on this course are eligible for an Affiliate Professional Membership of Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and access to a range of professional events.

Course content

You will develop a strategic perspective and broaden your existing understanding of marketing and its integration into an overall corporate strategy and structure. You will hone your capacity for analysing complex marketing and business situations and reaching decisions on appropriate courses of action. You will also improve your career prospects in marketing and general business areas.

A highlight for many students is the residential weekend organised as part of this course – a weekend away combining presentations and workshops with great opportunities to network and get to know your fellow students.

Fast-track marketing management MA/MSc

A fast-track route to the Marketing Management MA qualification is available for holders of the CIM Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (or equivalent). Holders of this qualification will be exempt from all but two modules:
-For MA: Marketing Creativity and Innovation Marketing Dissertation
-For MSc: Quantitative Analysis for Marketing and Management Marketing Dissertation

The fees will be proportional to the number of credits studied. Dissertation (40 credits) Quantitative Analysis for Marketing Management (20 credits).

Accredited internship

All students on our full-time business Masters courses can apply to undertake the PG/MBA Internship Programme Reflective Practitioner Module. This is an 8 week unpaid accredited internship, which can be taken in addition to option modules and will help students to gain invaluable work experience. The internships, which are with London-based organisations, take place during the summer period. To apply, students must submit a completed application form and a copy of their updated CV to the Business Experience Team; the team then shortlist from the applications and conduct group meetings with the applicants.

Ultimately it is up to our internship employers to decide whether they would like to interview the candidate(s) and offer him/her an internship. We have received very positive feedback from both postgraduate students and employers and expect that the internship programme will continue to remain popular amongst our students.
