This program is designed for applicants with a strong research agenda who already have an academic background in medieval history or related disciplines such as philology/literature, philosophy, art history or archaeology with a focus on medieval Latin, Slavonic, Byzantine or early modern Ottoman culture.
This program is designed for students with a strong research agenda centered around late antique and medieval Latin, Slavonic, Byzantine or Ottoman culture, and a solid grounding in medieval or early modern history or a bordering discipline, such as philology, literature, philosophy or archaeology.
Offered jointly with the Department of Gender Studies, this program provides expertise in women’s and gender history as well as European history.
This program is designed for students with a three-year bachelor’s degree in history or a bordering discipline. Jointly run with CEU’s Department of Medieval Studies, it offers two tracks.
Run jointly with CEU’s Department of History, the Medieval track of this program zooms in on the political, social, intellectual, religious and economic history, as well as the material and spiritual culture of the period between 300 and 1600 C.E.
Our program combines theoretical approaches to cultural heritage with practical knowledge through fieldwork and internships at heritage organizations.
