The Master in Wealth Management (MWM) aims to educate and train future wealth managers. The curriculum, developed by the Luxembourg School of Finance (LSF) in cooperation with the Private Banking Group Luxembourg (PBGL), combines traditional finance subjects such as accounting, asset pricing, financial analysis, with person-, legal- and tax-centric subjects such as interpersonal skills, cross cultural communication, personal portfolio management, estate planning, ethics and international tax planning.
Graduates will be able to find jobs in private banks, foundations, family offices, consultancy firms, insurance companies, investment firms, among others.
One of the main reasons of the PBGL to collaborate with the LSF to develop this master is their continuous need for talented and well-trained private bankers. Currently very few Master programmes specialize in the growing field of Wealth Management. Thanks to the synergies between the LSF and the PBGL, we are able to offer one of the best professional Masters in the world.
There will be a total of 28 courses, many of which will be taught over short intensive periods. The gives students the opportunity to spend one or more days exclusively with their course lecturer(s), and focus on one subject at the time. The delivery style will be very much participative and practice oriented. Many courses we will involve practitioners drawn from the PBGL group to elaborate on the practical significance of the material learned.
All students will have an academic supervisor and a personal industry mentor, who will provide guidance and support for their academic and professional development.
The teaching staff includes leading academics from the University of Luxembourg and other universities, as well as industry specialists with extensive experience and networks in their subject areas.
The programme is offered in a full-time and in a part-time format. Under the part-time format, the student completes the curriculum in two years instead of one. The PBGL-affiliated banks offer several part-time positions which enable candidates to finance their studies and put their newly acquired skills and knowledge into practice. Students can apply for the full-time and a part-time programme (combined with a part-time job) simultaneously.
