What’s it like to study a Masters in Lisbon?

Located on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, Lisbon is the westernmost major city on the European continent. It has been an important coastal city for much of its history and was a leading centre of oceanic exploration in the early modern period, with many important voyages of discovery setting sail from its port. In recent decades Lisbon has been chosen as the centre for important political summits and agreements that have shaped the development of the European Union.

As befits an important European capital city, Lisbon is home to many important landmarks, monuments, heritage sites and other visitor attractions.

These range from historic port structures such as the 16th century Belém Tower to more modern buildings such as the MEO Arena, one of the largest indoor venues in Europe, built to a striking saucer design.

Lisbon also hosts two of Europe’s most successful football teams, Sporting Lisbon and Benfica, both of which maintain elaborate stadiums that are frequently used to stage major international matches. While studying a Masters in Lisbon you’ll have the opportunity to visit all of these attractions, as well as take advantage of the chance to enjoy other nearby parts of Europe such as Spain or Gibraltar.
