The growth of the arts and the creative industries has created a need for well qualified arts administrators. This MA has the potential to shape a new breed of professionals in the arts management field by offering Liberal Arts, Humanities, Fine Arts, Film, Media and Communication graduates the opportunity to acquire the appropriate management and business skills, thus enabling them to capitalize upon their previous grounding within the arts.

Thanks to AUR’s connections and collaborations with numerous artistic and cultural institutions both in Rome and in Italy, this MA also offers the opportunity to gain invaluable professional experience. Rome and Italy are especially attractive for the study of arts, in general, and arts management in particular, given enormous resources that are available to scholars, art world professionals and students. Italy has a long and rich tradition of collecting, sponsoring and exhibiting visual arts. A special advantage available to students of Arts Management in Italy is a possibility to study some of the world’s oldest private collections and a specific system of patronage in the arts. The program is aimed at training the various professional profiles involved in the production, management and distribution of photographic images.

The one-year Master’s Program in Photography and Visual Design integrates theoretical study with laboratories and project workshops.

Coursework is enriched by guided visits to research centers and performance spaces, audiovisual production facilities, publishing houses, theatres, artists’ studios, museums, and contemporary art galleries.

The course focuses on the driver of sustainability for the creation of shared value. Creating shared value in fashion means being able to answer the needs of many stakeholders: the environment, society, institutions, art, culture, territory and the consumers. A responsible fashion company has already started the long and complex journey of integrating ethics and aesthetics into the value chain, in constant balance with all the stakeholders.
Here are some of the keywords that will lead the way in fashion responsible innovation and that will be explored during the lectures, class discussions and company visits: circular economy, recycling, upcycling, prosumer-creation, open-source, crowdfunding, wearable-technologies, online-offline integration, transmedia-storytelling, B-corporations and open-innovation among others.

In particular, within the concept of brand extension we will face how to develop a project, from strategy and organization to the creation and design of the products to be placed on the market.
It is a multi-faceted activity that embraces "value-added brands", and it is increasingly sought and practiced. In this context, we will learn the most innovative branding strategies for new products: the choice between line or brand extensions, the launch of new brands or sub-brands, et.

This also requires clinically effective and well-designed medical devices, as well as effective and reliable healthcare services based upon innovative technologies and systems, and the related organizational models to be implemented.

In the last 20 years the technological development of biomedical devices has reached an enormous progress, in terms of high performance and reliability, and also for safety and quality. Today medicine involves the use of many equipment and devices for the diagnosis, therapy and rehabilitation and to support the correct clinical decision or the best treatment. Healthcare industry is requiring this multidisciplinary approach and know-how.

The Specializing Master Product Service System Design for Healthcare aims at providing the students with the fundamentals for designing biomedical devices, starting from the basics of methodologies and technologies for the measurement of physiological signals in clinical and home care applications.

Didactics

The training modules are designed to meet the need for an international panorama of growing competitiveness in which the designer should be able to increase the product value by generating innovations thanks to the technology available.

The mostly used devices will be analyzed and presented during the course. Standards, norms and reference services are another fundamental part of the Specializing Master providing the reference framework for how to develop devices and products for healthcare. Design Methods and Ergonomics will be also presented as reference methodologies in designing innovative product-service systems in healthcare, as well as to support methodologically and with reference data the design of new systems. For a better understanding and participation, visits to medical facilities (hospitals and laboratories) will be proposed.

A final workshop to develop innovative systems will conclude the Specializing Master as practical demonstration of the achieved goals. A stage in selected companies/institutions will make the students to experience the acquired knowledge.

Attendance to the activity is mandatory for at least 75% of the course.

John Cabot University’s Master of Arts (MA) in Art History guides students toward professional mastery of the materials and methods of art history with emphasis on first-hand research in the museums, monuments, and archaeological sites of Rome. The degree can be completed in approximately fifteen months of full-time study. The program has a dual focus: the visual cultures of Rome and the Mediterranean across time, from antiquity to the present; and the acquisition of technical skills for primary research. It also stimulates critical perspectives on the impact of Roman art worldwide. 

Overview

Taught by John Cabot University’s international faculty, the degree program can be completed in three semesters of full-time study (Fall-Spring-Fall) and an intervening summer. It unfolds in three phases: a structured Foundation Year (Fall-Spring); a Master’s Exam (Summer); and a Thesis Semester (Fall). 

Seminars and courses take place at John Cabot University’s campuses in the centrally-located Trastevere district of Rome and in nearby Roman museums, churches, palaces, monuments, archaeological parks, archives, rare book libraries, restoration labs, study collections, artists’ workshops, public installations, and contemporary art galleries. Domus Academy has always had a wide and multidisciplinary approach to design research and teaching, which makes it possible to have a wide vision on design. The Master in Interior and Living Design intends to focus on the need to explore all aspects that concern design: from the most technical to the most intuitive ones, and to combine them in order to contemplate the various nuances of meaning in the words to live, to dwell, to use.

Milan offers a wide range of historical and contemporary stimulating examples; its long tradition in experimenting and finding practical solutions to the problems of living and dwelling makes it unique.

In this perspective, the department has created a training project of excellence able to reflect on the changes and transformations of the built space, promoting a permanent research activity for design models and solutions that are appropriate and innovative.

Overview

The main formative objective of the Master Course in Fashion Design is to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the fashion sector in all of its aspects, through an integrated approach between creative, cultural, productive marketing and communication aspects.

The path of the Master in Fashion Design is a path of experience, research and project making, created combining the theoretic patrimony of innovative and expert didactics with the fundamental contribution of a close and concrete collaboration with prestigious companies and professionals, who chose to follow the students during their training.

Studying Fashion Design in Italy is a unique experience that allows being in direct contact with this world, its protagonists and events, and the constant dialogue with professionals, contribute to the development of professional characters able to successfully express their creativity and to face effectively the evolution of the challenges presented by the field.

The Master is patrocinated by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (National Chamber of Italian Fashion).

The program includes an internship in a company working in the disciplinary field.

Audience

Candidates holding a first-level academic diploma or BA degree, or about to graduate and with a knowledge of the English language (IELTS 5.0 academic or equivalent certificate).
The program is addressed to graduates in fashion design, architecture and art schools as well as to people with a suitable background and professional experience in the fashion field.

The aim of the Master is to train professionals who have the ability to combine their creativity and their organizational skills with theoretical and knowledge with the world of production.
