This unique course places great emphasis on the creative and innovative aspects of management and marketing which are essential for business careers and the development of the new knowledge-based economy.

PLACEMENT AND STUDY ABROAD INFORMATION

In Part 2 of the course, from April until late August, you will pursue either a five-month research internship or an industry-focused research/consultancy project that will apply and develop what you have learnt in Part 1

The MSc Management Information and Managerial Accounting Systems (MSc MIMAS) is a full-time degree running for 15 months from the date of first registration. It includes a six-month industrial internship. You will attend lectures, seminars and tutorials in a variety of subjects relevant to both management accounting and Information Systems (IS).

The IS programme will give you an appreciation of how technology can be used to support the operations and transactions of modern organisations. The management accounting programmes will provide you with a thorough understanding of management accounting concepts and techniques and how these can be used to support managerial decision-making.

MIMAS is a challenging postgraduate degree programme. Methodology proposed

This research is envisaged to be predominantly applied in its nature and project driven (Action Research). It will be focused on a fixed

space, working alongside ERIC’s initiative of ‘the future studio’.

The researcher will work alongside mentors and enterprises developing case studies on various methods and approaches.

The use or design methodologies like prototyping, iteration and conceptualisation will be used to explore variations of the process.

This research will also be aligned with leading research in this field and be informed by international best practice.
